So the gold-buttoned double-breasted navy jacket was done the other day, but it is only now that I had the time to post it. There was a minor mishap, with the tailor's assistant temporarily losing the gold buttons I purchased and instead sewing on the ugliest gray plastic buttons, but it was quickly fixed. Nonetheless, I am very pleased with the result.
As always, giddy with a new acquisition, I try to come up with different ways of wearing the particular new item.
H&M t-shirt, Zara shorts, NDC loafers
2% shirt, Vivienne Westwood tie, tailor-made khakis, French Connection laceups
Harvard tee, Levi's, NDC loafers
H&M shirt, APC New Cures, Bottega Veneta moccasins
black and white striped turtleneck from Hong Kong, gray Esprit pants, Muji plimsolls
In other news, I found the perfect marching band jacket from my stock of old inspiration photos, this one's from Facehunter.
I love the way it fits, the length, and the way the buttons are close together and end well above the navel, leaving the rest of the fabric to just swing below. I think I want it in black/silver, as The Search for Chic suggested. And with three stripes of silver trim on each wrist. The big question for me is the piping though. Should I pipe it in a color? Or silver? Or none at all? Ah, the essential questions of life...
