MM6 Maison Martin Margiela x Opening Ceremony

Opening Ceremony is making strides in fashion history. The painfully cool boutique has been involved in collaborations with numerous creatives (Chloe Sevigny, Levi's, Pendleton to name a few), but never have they worked with anyone with the same gravity as the elusive Martin Margiela, in my opinion.

The capsule collection Opening Ceremony is doing with Margiela's MM6 showcases Margiela's oddly utilitarian pieces made casual-cool for the young and restless Opening Ceremony client. Many of the pieces can be worn multiple ways: jackets with detachable linings, boots with removable extensions, stirruped leg pullovers that could be worn high or scrunched low.

boots with removable extensions. I like them worn with the colors mismatched.

Though the capsule collection was mostly womenswear, this black knit deep v-neck seems like a good crossover piece: worn (dangerously low) on its own in the summer, and layered over and under everything in fall/winter.

Humberto, would you be so kind to orchestrate a men's Margiela x Opening Ceremony line soon? Thank you ever so much.

I was excited to see the title of this post but was disappointed to find out it was only womenswear. Nice direction though, hope they do menswear.

Although I am not left with much more to say than the usual: I like the cut for women, practical shapes. I will say I really like all the appendages he has created.

Yes very Margiela. What I want to know is what all the different MM# mean?
