Blogging right now from Amster-damn! the city is teeming with garbage piles. Seeing the wealth of canals and cannabis cafes juxtaposed with all the trash hills (accumulated due to the garbage collectors' strike) made for a culturally rich experience.

amsterdam is bonkas, i had a very weird time there. horrible and good at the same time. we stayed right in the heart of the red light district, i didnt pick the hostel...

there's an awesome resto in barca called l'hostal de rita (or something to that effect). go for the lunch. the selection is great, and not terribly expensive.
Look up the shop El Delgado Buil, too. It's a studio/shop tandem so you can meet the designers and talk about the amazing pieces they make. I bought a leather scarf when i was there a couple of years ago. It's still among my most cherished possessions.
