The Part-Metal Jacket and a Temporary Goodbye

For something made of 3% metal, this jacket by Copenhagen-based designer Ivan Grundahl is incredibly floaty.

The metal fibers in the fabric hold on to creases even more steadfastly than pure linen and give a subtle silvery sheen to the more metal-intensive stripes on the jacket.

I was introduced to the brand by my friend Brandon, and since then I've been a fan of Grundahl's unconventional shapes that allow for creativity on the part of the wearer as the latter figures out multiple ways of wearing the designer's garments. Unfastened, the jacket is open and breezy:

and the right side comes down much longer than the left:

With the ties tied, the neckline transforms into a scarf-like cowl that provides the safe feeling of being wrapped up in a coat and scarf in the fall, whilst remaining light enough to wear on the last days of summer.
