Engraved

I had my railroad spike cuff engraved with the name my mother uses to summon me when she is angry.

Giles and Brother by Philip Crangi Railroad Spike Cuff

I was allowed eight characters at no extra cost, so I threw in the exclamation point for full effect.

This piece of hardware has been a permanent fixture on my wrist for a couple of months now. I know I say that a lot about jewelry, but keep in mind my tolerance for jingle-jangle has steadily increased.

Its lovely, the simple & elegant design and the sentiment behind your choice as well! I can imagine wanting to wear something like that constantly, it has a slightly 'heirloom' like quality too.

I'd love to buy one! I will visit New York 2 weeks from now and I'd like to drop by their store. I can't seem to find the address of their store in their website. Where can I find them in NY?

PS. What is the size of your bracelet? Small or large?

Anonymous: The name of the boutique is "The Crangi Family Project" and it's on 9 9th Ave in the Meatpacking district. I'm pretty sure I got the small size, but had to have it adjusted at the store to make it fit my tiny wrists.

Alright, thanks! I will surely drop by and get myself one. Cool bracelet.

Think we need a few more mens accessory specialists here in the UK. To be honest I'm waiting for a website that JUST specializes in menswear accessories. I think it'll to well. What do you think?

Izzy! I want! I want to add more cuffs! Haha! What size did you get?

Izzy said...

BJ: Small. And I had to have them manually bend it to make it smaller, which I imagine would be the case for you too. And yes, it looks really good piled up alongside other cuffs and a watch!

Hey Izzy, how did you bend yours? I got the large and it's just slightly too big. I was worried about snapping it if I tried to bend it. Any thoughts?

Izzy said...

David: How big is slightly too big? If you need it taken in just a little bit, you should be fine bending it yourself, by hand, possibly cushioned by a rug or towel. The small was still too big for me and the kind SA at the store manually bent it in for me. But if it's significantly too large, I suggest you take it/send it to the store, they will most probably do it for you for free, and you get rid of the risk that you might break it.

Those are great pics! The website doesn't have enough detailed ones. I am going for the Skinny cuff (1/8 inch width) Small sized one, but my wrists are 5.75 inch circumference, so I am pretty sure I will have to bend the small cuff about 1/2 cm more closed, if the cuff will tolerate it. Is your cuff the .25 or the 1/8 inch? How bendable is it?

Izzy said...

Melissa: I have the non-skinny cuff and it's just a bit bendable, it is very hard. However, on the question of whether or not it will break, I suggest you call up the store and maybe they could even bend it for you.
